The first thing I did to do this look was to watch the video. Actually, I think I watched it 15 or 20 times, pausing, squinting, and trying to pick out detail. Good thing I enjoy the song! You can watch it too if you like!
When watching the video, you can tell they're a set of false nails that were decorated first, then applied with tabs for the video. Super cute!
As I said, I worked hard to pick out the details of her nail art. It was hard to do, but I saved the best images that showed her nails.Click the images to see them full-size.
I feel guilty posting all these snaps of Katy, poor thing looks so awkward in all of them! I did save one shot that has no nails, but looks gorgeous just to show I'm not trying to make her look funky!
I think her eyes look so pretty in this shot! Anyway, once I had the basics figured out, I went ahead and did one nail in the 80s-tastic style! It's a super-simple style, and you can change it up however you like! Check out these ideas I put together just playing around...
So, as usual, I've put together a quick animation to show how easy it is for you to do your own 80's-tastic nail art! All you need is some tape and some fun bright colors. If pink and green aren't your colors, switch it up- go for pink and purple, red and black... it's all up to you!
So remember- it's all up to you, and if you screw it up, it's only nail polish!! Til next time, lovelies!
My sanity was provided by... wait, did someone provide sanity? Because I seem to have lost mine...
See my disclosure statement for more information.
This is very cute! I love the cheerfulness of these designs.
