OMG, such good news! Thanks to a whirlwind of circumstances, my son starts college on Tuesday! I'm so proud... although I am NOT old enough to have a child in college! :D

Now we're trying to figure out the scheduling- how we're going to get him back and forth to class... it's rough living in the butt end of nowhere and only having one car! Still, talk about your first world problems!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Go read John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. It's AMAZING!

    1. Ohh, that's a long story! He's got type 1 diabetes, and we had nothing but problems once he started high school. We were even told that his 9th grade guidance counselor hadn't been doing his job and had let him "slip through the cracks!" At one point, the last guidance counselor he had asked him if he'd considered just dropping out of school and getting his GED!

So, long story short, we got the financial end of things sorted so he can start community college! The plan is for him to do 2 years there, then transfer to a 4 year university. I'm so excited for him!

    1. Thank you! We're all pretty excited about it! I expect it to go well... kiddo's brilliantly smart, but was really frustrated with the whole high school environment. I think he's going to really enjoy college!

  3. Congrats to your son Laynie. I'm going back to school tomorrow after a three semester break. I'm happy to be back in the swing of things.

Thankfully college is not like HS. I'm sure he will have much success!
