My last 3 months or so have been like that. I was sick, then I had a fibro flare, then I had a fibro flare while I was sick. I spent about a month mostly unable to eat or drink much and ended up in the emergency room for IV fluids and quite a few antibiotics. Once that was ok, I ended up with new fibro medicine that's kept me sleeping anywhere from 16-22 hours a day.
No, I didn't mistype and you didn't misread. I've actually spent several days asleep for 22 hours. It's not cool, and I don't recommend it.
So, with all of the medical drama, I've sort of run out of nails to write about. Who'd have thought, right? I've got the jitters from meds and I'm just plain not feeling creative when it comes to cosmetics. However, I do have lots of sketchbook goodness to share with you, so hopefully that'll inspire you some. In fact, I bet some of these sketches would make for good nail art! So, enjoy the sketches (hopefully, at least!) and the fun nail mockups!
Some days it's not worth chewing through the straps....

Feel better honey! *hugs*

I love these drawings!! They remind me of Lisa Frank (which I mean as a huge compliment)!
ReplyDeleteHey, sorry to hear about your fibro flares. :( I believe I've commented before to let you know that both my mom and I suffer from fibromyalgia as well (me not as much yet because I'm only 22, but I do already have symptoms). So I can relate a lot to how much it prevents you from living a normal life and doing things you enjoy. Out of curiosity, what medicine are you on that's making you sleep so much? The only medicines I know of that are prescribed with fibromyalgia specifically in mind are Cymbalta and Lyrica. I actually started Cymbalta a couple months ago, though more for depression and anxiety than fibro. I do think I've been in less pain since I started taking it, though. Not sure how that works, as it's not a narcotic pain killer.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I love the drawings, and yes, some of them could make for awesome nail art, or even just inspiration for nail art. Like, that cake for instance... I would use the patterns and stretch them across the whole nail, still with the angled lines separating them, instead of trying to paint the cake on the nail. (The cake looks cool, I just think the patterns themselves would look better on a nail.) I might use the cupcakes for inspiration someday, since I have a really easy way of doing cupcakes on nails that I love doing and I'm always on the lookout for good color combos for that. Also, I love love LOVE that you turned one of the monkeys into a sugar skull! Super creative and cute!
I hope you feel better soon. <3
So sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. :( My mom has fibro and it can really be a bear. Rest up, feel better, and I hope things turn around for you soon!
ReplyDeleteYour sketches are really cute, I'm glad you have a little distraction!
Your nail art is beautiful and very creative :) I hope you are feeling as well as possible today; I know exactly how you feel as I have had fibro for most of my life in conjunction with other health issues. I hope youbcan find some relief so that you're able to live and create comfortably. The book ' The Fibromyalgia help Book' is very helpful. Also Ck out Manuka and avoid pharmaceutical antidepressants; just a few things that have helped me immensely. Blessing your way I hope you have a comfortable and happy day :) I look forward to seeing more of your amazing art :)
