It's better to give than to receive...

My husband is laughing at me. He thinks it's cute when I get so giddy over packing things up to send to people. I don't know why, but I absolutely LOVE putting together little gifts for people!

That brings me to the subject of this post: my giveaway winners!

Congratulations to Thalie and Stefanie! They each won a prize pack, and I might have slipped a couple of other goodies in there, just because I love to share things. You know... maybe. *wink*

Speaking of things I love, let me just say how much I love my new packing tape! It's made by Duck, and is the cutest pink and black zebra pattern! I feel like it makes my packages just a bit more fun, just a bit more happy.

A bit more like me, really.

I've seen this tape in the store lots of times, but never could justify the almost-$3 it costs. But now I have packages to send, and I need to make sure they're secure, right? Hey, that's my story and I'm sticking with it...

Good thing I bought it, too, because although I was super-careful packing the giveaway prizes, after I was finished I saw that one of the boxes had fallen out of the envelope. Thankfully, I was able to cut into the package, replace the wandering box, and seal everything up again with my tape. Yay!

Anyway, it's almost midnight and I really should try and get some sleep. I've got more goodies in the works, so check back soon!

Giving gifts is so much fun!

Oops, I forgot to post... *blush*

I know, I know, I'm horrible. I thought I'd posted the winner of my giveaway! Instead, I hadn't, and hadn't even updated the blog! I'm a terrible blog mommy. I've had an interesting week, let's just leave it at that, shall we?

However, I want to give a GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Lisa Mc! She's won the kick-butt prize package so generously provided by Kiss & Broadway Nails, and I'm hoping she has as much fun with the goodies as I have!

Also, I have a great story to share. I guest-lecture in the Photoshop Basics class at the local community college every semester. This time, I'd gone in to help with the class while they worked on their final projects, as usual, and as I was helping one student, she interrupted me apologetically.

Turns out, she loved the way my nails were done, and she recognized them as the Sally Hansen Salon Effect nail polish strips. She had to tell me that she loved my nails, and that as soon as class let out, she was going to WalMart to buy a pack of the set I'm wearing! It seems that she and all of her friends absolutely love these, because they're easy, gorgeous, and stay on forever!!

I'd wondered about that, but it's true. I put this set on the afternoon of April 29 as an experiment to see how long they'd wear. As of May 7 they aren't even showing tipwear, and I only put topcoat on them once! I am showing new growth at the base of my nails, but other than that, these still look brand new. I've even been crafting with them, and that usually destroys my manicure!

So, just for the sake of thoroughness, I'm going to keep these on until they need to be changed. I'm not going to change them simply because of growth, because that's just too easy. I want to see how long these babies will stay on my nails! In the meantime, I'm going to be doing a comparison of the various types of full-nail sticker/polish tabs that I can get my hands on. This should be fun! Stick around, once I get it all organized it's going to be pretty informative!

Til next time...

10,000 pageviews giveaway WINNER!!

Hi! Very quick post to share the winner of the 10,000 pageview giveaway- congratulations, Cheryl! She's won the generous prize package from Broadway nails.

There were almost 100 entries into the giveaway! I have to say though, I'm a bit disappointed. I was very frustrated while I was going through the entries and verifying entries. Not only did some people say they'd followed me on Twitter when they haven't, there were even false links and people who weren't even following via Google Friend Connector.

Running a giveaway like this takes hours of sorting through entries and verifying. It's just not cool to fake entries, hoping whoever runs it won't notice. I guess it's a risk you take, but know that at 3am while I was up to my ears in entries, I was grumpy as heck.

I just needed to get that out of my system. It won't stop me from hosting more contests and giveaways, though. :D
