Let me share their description of things...
It’s a Christmas Miracurl! - NailPolishCanada.com is giving away 3 Babyliss Miracurls ($600 value)

Every holiday season millions experience a sense of sadness at the flatness in their life. In an effort to cope some find themselves straining important relationships.

I know my husband loves me, but another day where I’m running late trying to curl my hair in a mad dash is just a fight waiting to happen”
 - Katie B

Could people go without curled hair? They could, but experts agree such a lack of regard and care is sure to result in a coal filled stocking.

“After the economic downturn Santa has had limited resources and he too has to make cuts, it’s not only naughty or nice anymore, but how you present yourself.”
noted Mrs. Claus.

Today Nail Polish Canada has announced their plans to take a stand and solve this important issue with the Babyliss Miracurl. In just seconds the Miracurl literally sucks your hair right in, curls it, then beeps letting you know it's done.

In order to raise awareness Nail Polish Canada is giving away 3 Babyliss Miracurls, to whoever can convince us they are the most “in need” of one.

“This will impact people’s lives. Together we can make a Christmas Miracurl”

- Nikki Smith, VP Glitter *This is our favorite pun ever and we’ve been using it around the office for weeks

Hi !

Fireworks, barbeques and red, white and blue – these are all ingredients for the perfect 4th of July holiday this weekend.  Now, you can also show your American pride with style with Violent Lips and Streekers. Check out the hottest new way to celebrate Independence Day with these patriotic must-haves:

American Flag Violent Lips ($14.95 for a set of three); www.ViolentLips.com
These FDA approved, vegan temporary lip tattoos offer the ultimate form of self-expression. Because let’s face it, nothing says “I’m here and I’m proud” better than American Flag – patterned lips!
To Use: Shape It, Peel It, Set It, Wet It

Streekers in Blue and Red ($10.95); Select salons and cosmetic specialty stores, ULTA and www.Streekers.com
True temporary hair color allows you to streak your strands in any pattern you choose without the commitment of permanent color. Unlike other temporary hair colors like gels and sprays, Streekers hair color bonds to the hair, so you can brush your hair without dulling the color or flaking it off.  Use it like cosmetics for instant impact.
To Use:  Apply Streekers on small sections of dry hair, from root to tip.  Allow to dry.  For 2-3 color effects, wait a minute between colors. To remove color, simply shampoo as usual.

Keep an eye out for another post about these items, once I can get it together. I just lost an hour on the Violent Lips side alone! Til next time!

Summer Messy Bun- tutorial?

Today's post is short and sweet. While I was in Gainesville, I wanted to put my hair up but still have it look cute. After a bit of fiddling, I came up with this messy side bun. It was simple and took all of 10 minutes to create, and I really liked the end result!

Since everyone was asleep, I didn't bother trying to film a tutorial for this one. However, if you're interested in seeing how to create a side bun like this, leave me a comment. It's super easy, and perfect for these 100+ degree days we've been having!

Til next time!

In summer, I often think about shaving my head!

What Do You Do With Suddenly Curly Hair?

I spent most of my life with straight hair. You can see there in the photo how curly it was. I wanted curls so badly, but after one bad perm I quickly decided no thank you, I'll deal with the straight hair. I tried curling irons, hot rollers, the little pink foam rollers you slept in... my hair absolutely refused to hold a curl. It was impossible.

Fast forward a few years, and I was wondering why my hair had gotten so frizzy. I was still treating it just the same as I always had, but suddenly it was frizz central, and it made no sense to me. Then one day I let it dry on its own, and my family asked when I got the perm. That's right... I'm a curly girl now.

So that's great, most of the time, but there are times I really miss my straight, glossy hair. Periodically, I look online for hair iron reviews to see what people are talking about. You know, what people think is the best hair iron, what's overpriced, what's overhyped. I've got my eye on one particular iron right now, and I'll let you guys know if I like it once I've played with it a bit.

Til then... I'll have to figure out how to deal with this funky mass of curls. :D
